Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. Essien founded Wellpoint in 2016 to take advantage of his contacts in the financial community both in the United States and Europe and his business network in the Federal Republic of Nigeria specifically in the oil and gas sector.

Vice President

Sylvan Odobulu

Mr. Odobulu is responsible for identifying and developing new Sub-Saharan African indigenous upstream oil and gas interests and business opportunities through mergers and acquisitions. He is an expert in local acquisition activities management of government stakeholders.

Senior Geoscientist

Michael Shafie

Mr. Michael Shafie is our senior Geoscientist. He has 29 years of experience in exploration and development of oil and gas fields throughout the shelf and deep-water provinces of West Africa, the U.S, Malaysia, Vietnam, Egypt, Venezuela, and the Black Sea.
